a place called home

To all My Beloved,
There comes a time in our lives when you will feel that you’re missing me terribly … you may be thinking that i’m cold at night, lonely at work, friendless at friendster, poor-poverty-stricken, anguished, deranged, having 0 New Messages at gmail, yahoomail, & hotmail, languishing on a lowly
windows 3.1 machine ….
And in those times, If you feel that I’m not thinking of you …. All I can say is….
Please don’t worry too much … it’s not so bad … I’m safely home…
These stuff cannot compare to the warmth of your …. well, understanding… it’s quite sad but true: they’re the only ones i have for company:
1) Origami Omnibus by Kunihiko Kasahara(384 pages) - to impress most visitors (interesting fact: i’ve barely managed to fold 50% of the models — since 1989!).
2) National Instruments: The Thermal Mug — Holds the key to longevity — Sleeping Disorder Longevity
3) P4 3.0 Ghz with HT support — In this particular corner, it knocks out all others beside it. Also includes DVD/CD-R combo drive and 2×40G HD and Wireless Internet Connection, bluetooth module TSU-PI-PAI speakers and CHEAPO headphones — black see-thru casing: bbbbbbbaaaaaadass!
4) Anti-Femtosecond Laser Pulse Sheet — at room temp it’s in the solid phase. Black Underside for the absorbption mode — white for lossy reflection mode. Known locally as the illustration board. Illustrates the point of lab safety.
5) MicronScale Diffraction-Limited Point Magnifier. Fully Motorized. Manipulable from my phone (not shown)
6) Stacks of Unread Textbooks (Parallel Computing, Solid State Mechanics, Intel x86 Assembly Language, Research Logbook) and an ever increasing collection of problem sets "to be reconsidered" and uncorrelated pen-speckle residue samples (both milliwires and millidots).
7) Level Meter (Provides optimal Researcher/Equipment working conditions) — Latest in Bubble In Cylinders Technology. Can Align Large Silver Waffles from Melle Griot and New Focus.
Western Assimilation Device — a.k.a. The Wardrobe Launcher. Kept at 2 degrees below room temp. Contained in a hard polymer rectangular evacuation chamber. Humidity Protected. Sealed.
9) Long Wavelength Writable Media with Thin Felt Sheets. For the space-challenged researcher.
10) Subkilometer range archive.
11) Travel gear (contains a miniaturized projection of the "home" — projected on a thin hard film) — For Far and Away Experiments
12) depleted thoughts — i being poor have only my hopes, my dreams, my subpar poems
13) there’s something out there … it’s calling out to me … towards the void … silent whispers: ONE RING TO RULE THEM ALL.
but I think of you — and the rest is easy….
Ill be home soon — once I manage to set the alarm correctly
Dael
